RIMFIRE MATCH
Description
Metal targets are used exclusively to simplify the scoring of the match. Some movement will be necessary, but no reloads will be permitted. Each target array is shot five times with the best four being added for score.
Objectives
To provide a recreational shooting venue for rimfire handguns and rifles that is friendly to advanced beginner and intermediate level shooters. To create a safe, supervised environment. To help shooters improve target acquisition and engagement while under time constraints.
Procedures
Stages are shot under the supervision of a Range Safety Officer. A maximum of 10 rounds are loaded to engage the target arrays. The number of targets in each array may vary. The shooter addresses the targets from the low-ready position or from the holster, if preferred. At the start signal, the shooter engages all targets with one hit and shoots the stop plate last, if a stop plate is designated. A timer is used to record the overall time used by the shooter to address the target string. After reloading, the string is repeated between two and four more times with the times recorded for each string. The score is the total time taken, less the slowest string, plus penalty points, if any. Penalty points in the form of additional time are added for targets missed or for procedural errors. Participants have the choice of including or excluding their scores from the tabulation prepared after the conclusion of the match. Scores are posted to the Club website after the match has concluded.

Range Rules
A number of "common sense" range rules are used for the safety of all participants:
· Firearms are handled only at the stage start position under the supervision of a Range Safety Officer. Otherwise, all firearms shall be bagged or in a case until ready for use.
· The range is a COLD RANGE, which means that all firearms are in the unloaded condition except while being used to engage the targets.
· While engaging the targets, shooters must observe the "180 Rule" which means that loaded firearms must be pointed down range at all times.
Other Information
Targets consist of metal targets only. Targets are scored as a hit or a miss. Multiple shots may be taken at each target until hit up to a maximum of 10 shots total. The Range Safety Officer can answer any questions participants have about the rules. If you would like to have further information, please contact RJ AGUIRRE @ 619-948-2169
