Jim Kasten Memorial Cup 

In honor of Longtime LGRGC member Jim Kasten, Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club will be holding four sporting clays matches at LGRGC in Alpine, CA.

The Lemon Grove Rod and Gun Club (LGRGC) would like to invite all shooters (LGRGC members and nonmembers) to participate in the 2025 Jim Kasten Memorial Cup Sporting Clays Series. This year's series promises an exciting competition while honoring the memory of Jim Kasten. 

The 2025 events will consist of four individual matches. The matches will be squadded, non registered and all will be Shotgun Starts. To help ensure you get to shoot with your shooting buddies when you register don’t forget to invite the people you would like to be shoot with. 

Match Dates:

• March 9, 100-bird Sporting Clays 
• June 8,  50 Report Pairs 
• September 14, 50 True Pairs 
• December 14, 100-bird Modified Super Sporting 

Match Day Schedule

• 7:00 AM: Check in 
• 7:45 AM: Safety Briefing 
• 8:00 AM: Shotgun Start

All matches will be held at the Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club. Shoot Master, Mr. Frank Valdez, will oversee the events, ensuring a safe, fair, and enjoyable competition for everyone. Participation Fees:

• LGRGC Members: $45.00 per match. Members may use shoot tickets. (two per member).
• Non-Members: $65.00 per match ($45.00 match fee + $20.00 daily membership fee).
• Juniors: $30 per match. The $20 Daily Membership Fee will be waived. 
• The $20 Daily Membership Fee will be waived for  perspective LGRGC members. 
• Lunch is included  and will be served at the completion of the each days shooting.

There will be Club sponsored Lewis Class prizes awarded after each match. The awards will be LGRGC Shoot Tickets. 

Awards presentation will take place at the conclusion of the last match. To be eligible for the Kasten Cup and Patron awards, participants must shoot in all 4 matches. 

• The Kasten Memorial Cup will be presented to the HOA LGRGC member. 
• Patron Awards will be presented to HOA shooters in the Men’s, Women’s and Junior divisions.

Clarifications:

**Kasten Memorial Cup:**

Participation in the Kasten Memorial Cup is entirely optional. You can choose to participate in one, two, three, or all four matches. The Kasten Cup will be awarded to the LGRGC HOA member achieving the highest aggregate score across all four matches. Similarly, the Patron Awards will awarded to non-members who complete all four matches with the highest aggregate score. Award presentations for both the Kasten Cup and Patron Awards will take place following the final match.

**Lewis Class Option**

The Lewis Class Option sponsored by the LGRGC, also offers flexible participation. You don't need to shoot in every match to qualify. At the end of each day's shooting, a ranking list will be created, listing participants from highest to lowest score. This list will then be divided into equally sized classes. The top shooter in each class will be awarded with two LGRGC Shoot Tickets. Each ticket allows for three rounds of 5-stand or one round of Sporting Clays at future LGRGC events. The Shoot Tickets will be presented following each individual match.

We encourage everyone to participate and enjoy the camaraderie of the competition. It's about participation and sportsmanship and continuing the legacy of Mr. Jim Kasten as much as it is about winning.
