    CCW SKILLS CLINIC

This is an advanced Clinic for EDC that are training with frequency. This is NOT a beginner Clinic. In this Module we will have stages utilizing scenario based Force on Force Training using AIRSOFT, complimenting all of our standard live fire training stages. For FOF, you will need a long sleeve shirt; pants, and gloves. Full head, face/eye protection is provided. Force on Force changes the way we think and react given the scenario's erupting unknown chaos and the consequences of our actions or lack thereof.

This clinic is built specifically for valid EDC Club Members that actually carry everyday, to provide training using practical “real-life” scenario-based stages, and drill-oriented EDC skill building modules, thematically built upon the AVOID EVADE DEFEND concepts of smart EDC.

If you are new to CCW and or EDC training, it is required that you enroll in the Beginner Defensive Handgun class on the 2nd Friday of the month with Shoot Master Stan Luhr before you advance to the CCW Skills Clinic. Registration for the DHG Class is required with Stan @ 619 890 5404 or sluhr@ppcexpert.com.

Pre-registration with the CCW Clinic Shoot Master is required. A current CA, valid CCW license, must be presented to attend CCW SC. The firearm used must be on the license. THE SIG P320 and its variants MAY NOT BE USED IN THIS CLINIC. Firearm and license check are mandatory, prestart to participate. An appropriate sturdy gun belt with IWB holster, preferably Kydex and two magazines will be needed. All draw work is from concealed Appendix Inside Waist Band. No other carry positions are allowed. Round count variable. Estimate one hundred plus per event.

Cost per event per member $20. Non-member guests, including prospects, not allowed. Not open to the public.

New participant orientation, firearm and license check begins at 1:15 pm SHARP to align safety protocols and assess dry fire draw skill and safe gun handling skill from concealed, culminating in an abbreviated basic marksmanship live fire from concealed. You must pass the Basic Standard timed live fire draw to first shot at 3 yards, USPSA A Zone hit, in less than 1.80 seconds to qualify for the Clinic. The remaining time of the first 30 minutes will be to set the range for that specific clinics course(s) of fire, for the Module. Prior club member participants begin the clinic thereafter, with a Safety Brief at 1:45 pm.

If you are late for the New Participant Orientation or to the1:45 Safety Brief or arrive without being pre-registered for the Clinic you will be unable to participate.

    Defensive Handgun

5:00 pm to 9:00 pm rain or shine (dress accordingly)

For Members and Member accompanied Guests--not open to the public.

Check-in and course set up 5:00 to 5:15

    Safety Meeting Starts at 5:15

If you are a first time participant and miss the safety meeting you will not shoot!

If you cannot stay until 9 p.m. to help clean up you must arrive early to help set up!  No free-baggers.

This clinic is for beginner shooters to learn the fundamentals of proper and safe hand gun use. We will train at the pace of the most inexperienced shooter, to maintain safety but will often break the group up to allow more challenging drills for experienced shooters.

Seasoned shooters will also benefit by tuning up new skills and breaking bad habits to encourage safe, confident and quick shooting from the outside waistband holster.  CCW permit holders may only shoot concealed after the first beginner class and only when approved by the RSO prior to shooting.

Please arrive before 5:00 if you need assistance with your gun, holster or basic firearm manipulation. You must have your own full sized hand gun (barrel length 4 inches or more), outside waistband hard sided holster that covers the trigger guard, min. 2 magazines or speed loaders, 100-200 rounds of lead ammo (no steel), hat, safety glasses, and electronic earphones are mandatory--no exceptions.

    Advanced Defensive Handgun

    PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY!!!

Safety Meeting Starts at 5:00 to 5:15 check-in and course set up.

If you cannot stay until 9 p.m. to help clean up you must help set up!  No free-baggers.

This clinic is to test seasoned shooters using induced stress activities, movement, multiple threats and decision making when engaging threats. YOU MUST have successfully passed the skills test during the 101 and 201 beginner handgun clinics and have approval from the Shoot Master before taking this class. Alternately, if you can score under 35 in the Wilson 5x5 drill at 7 yards you may participate. (Must be witnessed by a Club RSO)

Advanced shooters may draw safely from OWB provided the holster completely covers the trigger guard.  You may draw from concealment using any pistol approved on your California CCW license. No steel ammo on steel targets.  Round counts can be anywhere from 150-300 rounds depending on what is being practiced, but you can always shoot less.

This clinic is to improve your solid foundational skills while improving speed and accuracy from the holster in stressful situations and while moving or shooting from compromised positions. We hold this class regardless of weather, and in very low light or no light conditions.
